Complete 2012/13: US Colour Direction

1 Dec

I LOVE fashion forecasting! Take a gander at these lovely tones that will fill your favorite collections for the year 2012 & carry us into 2013! Exciting,  right!?

Yellows

Yellows have a gold-yellow bias and are a very strong global message. They are distinct rather than layered in yellowed white, butter, illuminated gold, tan and ochre.

Oranges

Orange goes from almond and peach pales to electric orange, caramel and toffee, moving on the ginger message from last season.

Outlandish autumnals

Grand richness/ fierce / eccentric / pomp

Natural mid-tones

Stable / mineral / sober / flattened

Mauves

Mauve tones of ash rose and sludgy lilac brown reveal a notable absence of pink this season. With the stress on reds, darker tones are warm with port and damson mid-tones. Brown again shows importance in the darks with cool coffee-bean brown.

Warm urban darks

Electric-lit darks / power / suffuse / radiate

Contemplative neutrals

Mists / chills / quiet / comfort / colours murmur

Spiritual pales

Parchment variations / weathering / newspaper white / ceramic

Radical brights

Agitated / crayon / waxy / graffiti
